How to play

Vitraria is a calm arrow puzzle made of stained glass. Every glass pane is an arrow. Tap one and it slides the way it points, out through the gate of its own color. A pane with something in its way stops behind it. Get every pane out and the window turns into stained glass. The order is the puzzle.

The rules

  • Level 1: a red pane pointing up toward a red gate, and a blue pane pointing right toward a blue gate.Level 1: a red pane pointing up toward a red gate, and a blue pane pointing right toward a blue gate.

    Tap a pane

It slides the way it points and leaves through the gate of its own color.

  • Level 2: a red pane whose way to its gate is blocked by a blue pane.Level 2: a red pane whose way to its gate is blocked by a blue pane.

    Mind the order

A blocked pane bumps into the one in front and stops. Clear the way first and it goes out in one go.

You can tap a blocked pane too: it stops when it bumps into the one ahead, it doesn't get stuck. That can clear the way for another.

Mistakes, lives and hints

  • A pane that reaches a gate of another color gets stuck. It bounces back, the window goes back to before your mistake, and it costs a life.
  • From level 7 you have three lives in each level. Out of lives? Watch a short ad for one more, or start the level over for free.
  • Not sure what's next? A hint shows you the next right pane. You get free hints every day, and a short ad gives you one more.

Elements

  • Level 3: a blue pane pointing at a red paint bucket, with a red gate beyond it.Level 3: a blue pane pointing at a red paint bucket, with a red gate beyond it.

    Paint bucket

A pane that crosses a paint bucket turns that color. That's the only way a blue pane gets through a red gate.

Each paint bucket works only once. You decide who gets it, so choose the order well.

    From level 3

  • Level 20: a clear pane pointing at a blue paint bucket, with a blue gate beyond it.Level 20: a clear pane pointing at a blue paint bucket, with a blue gate beyond it.

    Clear pane

It has no color, so no gate will take it. Send it through a paint bucket first and it takes that color.

    From level 20

  • Level 40: a red pane heading for a turn plate that points up toward a red gate.Level 40: a red pane heading for a turn plate that points up toward a red gate.

    Turn plate

The first pane to cross it turns the way it points, and the plate breaks. The next pane goes straight through.

    From level 40

  • Level 60: a lead block on a red pane's path, with a turn plate in front of it.Level 60: a lead block on a red pane's path, with a turn plate in front of it.

    Lead block

Panes can't pass through it. A pane that hits the block gets stuck, so turn it before it gets there.

    From level 60

  • Level 85: the two ends of a tunnel, with a red and a blue pane.Level 85: the two ends of a tunnel, with a red and a blue pane.

    Tunnel

A pane that enters one end comes out of the other and keeps sliding the same way. A tunnel works only once.

    From level 85

  • Level 110: a red pane locked with the number 1, and a blue pane below it.Level 110: a red pane locked with the number 1, and a blue pane below it.

    Locked pane

It won't move until as many panes as its number have left. Each pane that leaves lowers the number by one.

    From level 110

  • Level 140: a queued gate at the top that takes red first, then blue.Level 140: a queued gate at the top that takes red first, then blue.

    Queued gate

It takes panes in the color order it shows. When the pane in the bright color leaves, the gate moves on to the next color.

    From level 140

  • Level 165: two tunnel pairs, one round and one square.Level 165: two tunnel pairs, one round and one square.

    Two tunnel pairs

Each tunnel leads to its own partner. A pane that enters a round tunnel comes out of the other round one; a square tunnel leads to the other square one.

    From level 165

Points

Every level gives points by its difficulty. Finish without a mistake and they triple; with one mistake they double. A stuck pane, a hint and a restart each count as a mistake. Solving quickly adds up to a fifth more. Each level and each day's puzzle gives points once, the first time you finish it.

The daily puzzle

After level 10 the daily puzzle opens: a new puzzle every day, the same for everyone. Your calendar shows the days you solved. Missed yesterday? Solve it today and your streak goes on; the other days of the past week can still be played from the calendar for points. Every seven days in a row earn you a streak freeze, and you can hold two. Once you solve today's puzzle, you see where you stand among today's solvers.

Tips

  1. Before you tap, follow the arrow to the edge: a pane leaves only through a gate of its own color.
  2. Start with panes whose path is already clear. Each one that leaves opens the way for others.
  3. A blocked pane is a tool: tapping it moves it up to the pane in front, which can clear another pane's path.
  4. Paint buckets work once. Before you send a pane through one, check which pane needs that color.
  5. There is no time limit. Think first, then tap: a mistake costs a life, a slow solve costs only a little.
